Swedish House Mafia Returns @ Pechanga Arena: 9/4/22 : Review

Finally, the return of Swedish House Mafia was upon us. Personally we grew up listening to this in our older brother's car, changing our lives and specifically our ears forever. Who would of thought many years last we would be doing a ticket giveaway for this event and holding press passes. The event had the talented Zhu opening up, one of our personal favorites. Zhu's bass shook the floor where we stood infront of the AV tent at the back of the arena floor. The energy was electric all around as everyone danced around. Suddenly the great entertainer slows down the music and brings a few lucky front row fans up onstage for a game of Zhu's musical chairs. It all ends with one winner, a lucky girl who is starstruck, allowed to play the CDJ's but is a bit too startruck to even move or say anything. Intermission hits and then suddenly the lights go dark and you can feel the bass slowly start to turn up, rumbling the whole stadium into suspense. Swedish House Mafia is really back. Boom the music gets going! My heart is fluttering as I try to get some photos in flashing my different cameras in between the strobing on and off darkness and white light, mixed in with lazers and moving heads all over.  This is a very high-quality production, nothing less of what you would expect from the greats (but boy is the photography trickier the better the AV production!).  The music slows down again and the lights go off. Suddenly the lights start to come on as the whole stadium is full of fog and a beautiful giant circular light-truss slowly descends from the arena sky above the crowd.

They mainly stuck to their new star-studded album "Paradise Again" (it was the "Paradise Again" Album tour after all),  pulling emotions out with "Moth to a Flame" (ft. the Weeknd) and hyping the people with "Redlight" (ft. Sting) They also riled the crowd up with their hit anthem "Turn On the Lights" (ft. Future).

They did play a few main hits such as "Miami 2 Ibizia" and emotionally ended the night with "Save the World" and "Don't You Worry Child". Tears brimming in all the fans eyes.
